Parvathy (She/her)

Parvathy is a neuroqueer therapist, writer, and social justice advocate, with lived experience that informs every session. In the past year, she has primarily worked with queer clients, clients who are ADHD, and individuals who have undergone developmental trauma.

Her relational, trauma-informed, liberationist practice is feminist, anti-caste, anti-capitalist, youth-liberationist, and affirms queer, kink, and neurodivergent lives.

In her work with individuals, couples, families, and those in non-traditional/alternative relationships, she emphasizes an integrative approach, personalizing different modalities as per her clients’ needs, including, but not limited to – Internal Family Systems, Coherence Therapy, ACT, SFBT, Somatic Techniques, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and a Metaframeworks approach to family therapy.

Parvathy’s practice is depth-oriented and incorporates principles of harm reduction. She prefers to co-create the therapeutic space with individuals through collaboration and dismantling power dynamics, valuing softness and gentle curiosity.

As a social justice advocate, she has worked with two Kochi-based NGOs in the past – Swaraksha, a non-profit organization for child rights and protection; through which she raised awareness on body and online safety in school children; and conducted workshops on the struggles experienced by queer youth in India, as well as on Collaborative Problem Solving, a non-punitive, empathic approach developed by Dr. Ross Greene to better support children.

As a part of Dhisha NGO – a voluntary, youth-run organization for the rights of marginalized communities- she had the opportunity to be a part of a State-Level Consultation on: Suicide Prevention, Mental Health, and Social Justice Among Marginalized Students in Higher Education Settings.

Additionally, during her Bachelor’s, she interned at Prisons Forum, Karnataka; a collective which advocated for non-carceral justice, soaking in knowledge about alternative forms of justice; and during her Master’s, at Mental Health Action Trust (MHAT), Kerala, where she participated in community mental health care at a ground-roots level.

Parvathy is a staunch believer in the complexity and wholeness of fellow human beings, and endeavors to hold and witness us in our entirety. Outside of work, you can find her writing prose-poetry or angry rants depending on her mood, creating imperfect art and crafts, re-reading her comfort fan-fiction, or sleeping.
