Individual Counseling in Hyderabad

Individual counselling offers a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of experiences that may feel difficult, confusing, overwhelming, or simply important to understand more deeply.

At Pause for Perspective, we offer individual counselling and therapy in Hyderabad, as well as online sessions for people who prefer to meet remotely. Our work is mindfulness-informed, inclusive, and attentive to the social, cultural, relational, and embodied contexts that shape our lives.

Rather than approaching therapy as a process of simply identifying what is “wrong” with a person, we work collaboratively to understand experiences, patterns, relationships, identities, and the meanings people make of their lives.

Our therapists work with adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, neurodivergence, addictions, life transitions, questions of identity, and personal growth.

How we approach therapy

There is no single therapeutic approach that works for everyone. Therapy at Pause for Perspective may draw from different psychological traditions depending on the person, their concerns, and what feels most useful in the therapeutic relationship.

Our work may include:

Mindfulness-Informed Therapy

Mindfulness can help us develop a different relationship with thoughts, emotions, bodily experiences, and habitual reactions. Rather than trying to immediately remove difficult experiences, mindfulness-informed therapy can create space to notice them with greater awareness, curiosity, and compassion.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative therapy explores the stories through which we understand ourselves and our lives. It also recognises that these stories are shaped by relationships, families, communities, cultures, institutions, and wider social structures.

This approach can help people examine dominant or limiting narratives while making space for alternative understandings of themselves, their relationships, and their possibilities.

Embodied Social Justice in Mental Health

Our therapeutic framework also includes Embodied Social Justice, an important part of the work at Pause for Perspective.

Mental health does not exist separately from the world we live in. Experiences of gender, sexuality, caste, class, family, community, discrimination, belonging, exclusion, and power can all influence emotional wellbeing.

Embodied Social Justice brings attention to how these realities may be experienced psychologically, relationally, and through the body. Therapy can therefore include both personal experience and the wider contexts in which that experience takes place.

Depending on the needs of the client, our therapists may also draw from:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • EMDR
  • Attachment-based approaches
  • Gestalt therapy
  • Psychodynamic psychotherapy

These approaches are not applied as fixed formulas. Therapy is shaped collaboratively according to the person, their circumstances, and what emerges through the therapeutic process.

What Can Individual Counselling Help With?

Anxiety is both a symptom of a larger issue and also a condition in itself. With the help of our therapists you can learn to manage the symptoms of anxiety and ascertain wider aspects of the context that are keeping you from living your hopes.

There are many ways we may experience depression. To understand more about what it is you are grappling with and to unhook from the patterns and complex circumstances that lead to depression contact our therapists who specialise in working with Depression.

Relationships are often very complex coming together of people, their life patterns and circumstances. Holding, healing and caring within relationships is possible and if you would like to learn more about the complexities of what you bring and what comes together in the relationships you have please reach out to us

Addictions can come in many ways-drugs, porn, food and more. Often they sneak into our lives as way to help us cope with life itself and then become detrimental to our wellbeing. Please reach out to us to feel support and working out of what seems to now have become an autopilot way of living.

In working with a therapist conditions like OCD, ADHD, Autism and Bipolar are held with care and perspective so we can learn to understand and embrace all parts of ourselves.

Therapy is more than managing distress and ones own difficult moments. Reach out to a therapist to learn more about how you can connect with what you really really want and intentionally work towards it.

Our therapists are trained in Mindfulness Based Symptom Management and lead individuals on a journey of learning mindfulness and presence.

While this is not an exhaustive list reach out to us to understand how we may be able to help you.

Inclusive Counselling for Diverse Communities

At Pause for Perspective, we recognise that people’s experiences are shaped by their identities, relationships, communities, and social environments. Our practice welcomes people from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ individuals, people experiencing caste marginalisation, and those navigating questions related to identity, belonging, and social exclusion.

We provide an affirming therapeutic space for men, women, young adults, and people from different communities seeking support, reflection, and personal growth.
